The job is to spy on him. Falling for him would be a terrible idea.

Kat needs money. Bastian Marwood is the powerful fae lord she’s paid to watch. He’s also known as the Night Queen’s Shadow—which is not exactly a reassuring introduction.

Welcome to Shadows of the Tenebris Court: Clare Sager’s trilogy of court intrigue, dangerous attraction, and a penniless noblewoman taking a job that could cost her far more than she earns.

Now that world has a collector’s set behind a $111,728 Kickstarter campaign.

Trouble Comes in Threes

A Kiss of Iron. A Touch of Poison. A Promise of Lies.

Even the titles sound like bad decisions waiting to happen.

Kat’s assignment offers a way out of poverty. But spying on Bastian pulls her into the fae court’s political games, where getting close to her target is both the point and the problem.

For readers already caught up in that tension, this campaign offers all three books together. Not another story to start. A world to return to.

Foil Outside. Secrets Inside.

The collector editions bring foil dust jackets, foil hard cases, sprayed edges, full-colour interior artwork and vellum inserts.

Take off the jacket and there’s still something to look at. Open the book and the artwork continues. This is a set with more going on than a dressed-up front cover.

The first volume is hand-signed; the second and third carry digital signatures.

Hundreds of Readers Chose the Hardcovers

At our October 30 check, 565 pledges explicitly included physical collector books. Of those, 562 were for trilogy-inclusive rewards and three for a single volume—at least 1,689 hardcovers represented by the displayed selections.

That’s hundreds of readers choosing a whole trilogy for their shelves.

The physical reward tiers now appear under “All gone.” If you missed the campaign, those offers are no longer available through its rewards page.

That doesn’t prove a ten-minute sellout. We couldn’t independently confirm that timing, and unavailable rewards aren’t necessarily an exhausted print run.

The Set Readers Will Be Waiting For

The campaign’s physical rewards estimated November 2026 delivery. For backers, the next chapter is opening the parcel and seeing how the foil, artwork and edges come together.

For everyone else, it’s a trilogy to keep an eye on—not because a funding total promises resale value, but because the books give readers a reason to want the complete set.

A dangerous fae court. Three matching volumes. Plenty of shelf temptation.

Funding and reward figures were checked October 30, 2026; reward selections are not a confirmed print run. Delivery is a campaign estimate. Campaign artwork is a temporary editorial reference pending permission. Relic Scrolls is not affiliated with the campaign.
